STMA Youth Wrestling

OVERVIEW

Our youth wrestling programming has been an integral part to our overall success as a wrestling community at STMA. Since 1969, we have aimed to develop youth athletes for success on and off the mat. We offer various training levels throughout the year.

Starting in mid-November, we begin with our Part I (Folkstyle) season. This has training on Sundays for Girls Only (K-6), Mondays for Pre-K & Kindergarten, Tuesdays for 1st & 2nd grade, and Tuesdays/Thursdays for 3rd-6th graders. Part I runs through the end of December. Starting in January, Part II begins. Part II is aimed at more advanced techniques for athletes training for state tournaments. Part II runs until late February.

There is a Part III that is ran through the club which is geared more specifically to those competing at MN/USA or NYWA state tournament. Information will be announced towards the end of Part II by coaches. It runs twice a week for practices through March.

In mid-March through mid-May, we offer Freestyle and Greco-Roman training. In 2024-2025 this is ran through Grynd Wrestling and owner Jake Allar. In September-October, Grynd has also offered fall practices for those wishing to begin their season early.
